Moy Park investing £10m in Ashbourne facilities
Angie Posey, HR business partner; Colin Grubb, general manager; and James Colley, factory manager. Up to 100 new jobs are to be created in Derbyshire following Moy Park’s announcement of a major £10m investment in its hatchery and processing plant at Ashbourne, Derbyshire.
The investment, which includes the installation of a new cutting line, processing equipment and refrigeration chilling technology, will enable Moy Park to increase its capacity at Ashbourne to more than one million birds a week.
It will also increase the hatchery’s capacity to 1.2 million chicks a week.
Alan Gibson, Moy Park UK and Ireland director, said the investment would see the hatchery and factory transformed into state-of-the-art facilities employing the most technologically advanced equipment.

“This multimillion pound investment will meet the highest standards of animal welfare, hygiene and biosecurity.
“It will also ensure that we are well placed to meet increasing consumer demand for locally sourced, high-quality poultry products.”
The investment follows last year’s announcement by the Northern Ireland-based poultry company of a £170m expansion plan across its poultry processing sites.
Since then, Moy Park has completed the first phase of a £20m investment at its Dungannon plant.
The latest investment in Derbyshire follows the sale of Moy Park by parent company Marfrig Global Foods to Brazilian meat processing giant JBS in the summer for £944m.
Moy Park has 12,000 staff in UK, France and the Netherlands.
