Noble to build new £9m packing plant

Noble Foods is investing £9m in a new free-range egg packing facility, which will be based in Witney, near Oxford. It hopes to have the plant operational by the middle of next year.

The new facility will sort and pack eggs for retailers’ own brands, as well as Noble’s Happy Egg Co offering. Construction will be undertaken by Clegg Food Projects.

The plant will be the third packing site in Noble’s portfolio, adding to existing plants in North Scarl, Lincnolnshire – said to be the largest free-range packing centre in the world – and Fife, Scotland.

Richard Stowey, project director at Noble Foods, said it looked to “build an industry-leading free-range egg packing centre”.
