Turkey Talk’s Adlington brand of prepared and cooked poultry has gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months, having seen a doubling in charcuterie sales and picking up its third award this year.
The firm’s speciality Oak Smoked Warwickshire Turkey took the “Best Ready to Eat Product” category at the recent British Turkey Awards. This followed two Golds at the Guild of Fine Foods’ recent Great Taste Awards, where the Adlington Three Bird Roast impressed the judges for the second year running.
A jubilant Rod Adlington said: “Considering this is our first product from the new charcuterie range, we are over the moon that it has beaten the likes of Bernard Matthews who have dominated the marketplace for so long.
“Our smoked turkey is made from barn-reared, corn-fed birds that lead a happy life and that comes across in the flavour and moisture of the meat. We smoke over real oak chips and are gradually developing more varieties using fragrant apple and cherry wood.”
Turkey Talk’s Adlington brand of prepared and cooked poultry has gone from strength to strength in the past 12 months, following the opening of a commercial smokery on their Balsall Common farm and a national distribution programme. Charcuterie sales have doubled since penetrating independent retailers around the country.
