EFFICIENCY AND effectiveness — two key words when it comes to running a successful poultry business and the theme chosen for this year‘s NFU National Poultry Meat Conference, sponsored by Aviagen, Cobb, Intervet, Poultry First and Schering-Plough Animal Health.
The Conference, which includes a dinner on the first evening, is being held at the East of England Showground, Peterborough and runs from the afternoon of Oct 13 closing with lunch on Oct 14.
Attendance is open to all, particularly those involved in the poultry meat supply chain. More details of the programme can be found in the October issue of Poultry World.
However, for further information on registration and accommodation, please check the NFU website (www.nfuonline.com) under the Press Centre page.
Wednesday Oct 13
The first day aims to look at the on-farm factors in producing a robust healthy flock, while the keynote address will examine how the modern industry operates and is likely to develop to build a competitive UK industry.
There will be a dinner in the evening at the nearby Marriott Hotel, at a cost of £30.
Thursday Oct 14
Welfare on the farm and as a component in breeding objectives is a key issue for broiler breeding flocks and this will be discussed in the morning together with the necessity of successful marketing of the end product.
Tickets for the Conference cost £25 per day, and a two-day ticket is available for £45. For further details contact Helena Salamonowicz by telephone (020 7331 7393) or email (Helena.salamonowicz@nfu.org.uk).
