SRJ Davidson launches gentle egg transporting system

Northern Ireland egg handling specialist SRJ Davison of Ballymena has launched a new pallet system for transporting eggs from farms to packing centres. The system has been adopted by leading packers in Ireland.
It has been developed mainly for pulp trays, widely preferred as the gentlest material for egg handling. It comprises a galvanised steel construction with no moving parts, giving it high durability.
It is the only system which combines complete protection for eggs and pulp trays, fast handling, 25% nesting, and low cost auto-loading/unloading capability.
The firm says that since adopting the system, Ballygarvey Eggs has achieved 10 trips a tray, which practically eliminates tray costs. When combined with the in-line SRJ Davison tray disinfector, trays can be re-used over 20 times with total biosecurity.
The pallets are available in two sizes and can be stacked up to seven layers high.
