Heritage Customs develops 425hp Defender pickup
© Heritage Customs Two specialist vehicle modifiers have joined forces to deliver what Land Rover hasn’t – a Defender pickup.
Coachbuilders Heritage Customs and Urban Automotive, which are owned by the same parent group, have lopped off the rear section of the roof to accommodate a load bed complete with side-swinging tailgate.

The aim, they say, was to “capture the spirit of the classic 110 Defender crew cab”.
However, this work won’t come cheap, with conversions reckoned to cost upwards of £60,000 – a figure that excludes the donor vehicle.
The pictured model is based on a Defender 130 and is propelled by a supercharged 5-litre V8 engine that puts out 425hp.
It is available in relatively muted Heritage Edition tones, or as a blinged up and blacked out Urban. Both come with a roof rack and load bed liner, in the unlikely case that buyers actually use it for a job of work.
