Agco buys half of Laverda

Agco has bought a 50% share of Laverda from the Italian harvester and baler specialist’s parent company Argo.
The deal, which is still subject to approval from European competition authorities, follows an agreement set up in 2004 which
saw Laverda supplying Agco with combine harvesters.

This new arrangement also extends to balers and grass kit. Agco now holds control of half of Laverda subsidiary Fella-Werke, a German manufacturer of grass and hay machinery and a 50 % stake in Italian firm Gallignani, which already supplies Massey Ferguson with round-balers.
