Agritechnica 09: Terrion shows prototype 345hp rigid-chassis tractor

After breaking with former partner-company, Kirovitz, Russian-based tractor manufacturer Terrion ATM had its largest ever prototype tractor on show for the first time. The 345hp 7360 is the smaller of a two-model range and although the 394hp 7400 didn’t quite make it to Hanover, it deserves a mention.

Both tractors stand to be fitted with the same ZF transmissions as the Claas Xerion 4500 and 5000 Series launched this week – the Eccom 5.0 – which is capable of handling more than 500hp in an articulated machine. They’re powered by a Deutz TCD 2013 6-cylinder 4-Valve block.

It was initially thought that the model to be unveiled by Terrion was an articulated tractor, too, but this isn’t the case. The larger of the German-designed, Russian-made 7000 range, should it come into production, could become the largest hp rigid-chassis tractor on the market, topping the current Agco MF and Fendt offering by nearly 40hp.

Although not currently available in the UK, there are two Terrion 5000s (around the 280hp mark) already at work on farms in Holland and they cost in the region of €115,000. Could Terrion ATM be one to watch for the future?
