Ecorider offers 90mpg diesel quad

Scottish firm Ecorider, known best for its two-wheel diesel-powered ATV, has added a four-wheeled diesel quad to its range. Called the Ecoquad, it is claimed to be capable of 90mpg, compared to a typical 10-15mpg for petrol-engined quads. It also puts out just 83g/km of CO2 compared to as much as 450g/km for a petrol-engined machine.

The engine is a 442cc Lombardini diesel that produces 11hp at 3600rpm. Transmission is automatic, with a torque converter and high, low and reverse gears and the Ecoquad has a top speed of 35mph. Load capacities are 400kg for towing, 25kg on the front rack and 40kg on the rear rack. Cost is £3950 + VAT.

The arrival of the Ecoquad brings the number of diesel-powered quads available in the UK to at least four. MF has the 686cc £7575 AgTV, Arctic Cat has a very similar equivalent and Diesel Quads has the 850cc £6495 Diablo and Centra. Yorkshire firm Farmrite, meanwhile, sells the diesel-powered Bulldog 3.

Ecorider now offers a diesel quad as well as a diesel two-wheeled ATV.
