Polaris launches Ranger 500 UTV at quad bike money
© Polaris Polaris has bolstered its UTV line-up with an entry-level model that’s priced to compete against quad bikes.
The Ranger 500 is designed to bridge the gap between the maker’s Sportsman ATVs and the Ranger 570, with a 567cc petrol engine that delivers 28hp and 45Nm of torque.

This is teamed with a belt-type CVT transmission and switchable four-wheel drive system, complete with turf mode that unlocks the rear differential to prevent scuffing.
Bump soaking duties are trusted to independent front and rear suspension, with ground clearance sitting at a respectable 254mm.
When it comes to carrying and hauling, the tipping rear load bed is rated to handle 227kg and it can pull trailers weighing up to 680kg.
Standard kit includes a rollover frame and cab roof, as well as a 1,134kg winch.
The Ranger 500 is expected to hit the market in late spring with a £9,999 price tag.
