UTV buyer’s guide 2025-26

Those looking for a multi-seat off-road vehicle or more load carrying capacity than a traditional ATV have a wide selection of makes and models to choose from in this year’s Ultimate Guide.

Operator comfort is a growing priority, and several manufacturers are offering higher specification heated cabs with extra storage for dry clothing, food, drink and livestock medical supplies.

Electric and hydraulic tipping load beds are also featuring more often, improving working conditions and increasing safety for operators.

Boss ORV displayed Chinese-built Aodes UTVs for the first time at last winter’s Lamma show.

The line-up consists of four models with 649cc or 976cc power units, with the WorkCross 650-3 expected to prove particularly popular – it is propelled by a four-stroke, liquid-cooled V-twin petrol engine with electronic fuel injection.

Suspension uses independent dual A-arms with adjustable shock absorbers, and the standard 26×9-R14 front, 26×11-R14 rear wheels and tyres give 30cm ground clearance.

CF Moto

New U10 Pro Highland and U10 Pro XL models come with fully enclosed cabs, including interior trimmed doors, a power opening front screen with a wiper and washer, electric side windows, a sliding rear window and factory-installed heater.

The RideSync 8in touchscreen has Apple CarPlay compatibility allowing GPS mapping to be displayed, and a sound system is standard with roof-mounted speakers.

Power is from a three-cylinder, 998cc liquid-cooled engine, and push buttons in the dashboard select the transmission mode; power steering is electro-hydraulic, and both U10 models have ABS brakes and a 90kph top speed.

The U10 Pro Highland has a 2,060mm wheelbase and a bench seat to carry three people.

The larger U10 Pro XL with 2,860mm wheelbase has two bench seats and carries up to six.

Both machines have a 450kg load capacity and come with a 2,000kg winch as standard.

Corvus

The Corvus brand is missing from this year’s Ultimate Guide, as the importation agreement with Boss ORV, which distributed its range of UTVs in the UK, has ceased.

Many local dealers that supplied existing machines will continue supporting customers with parts and service backup.

John Deere

Available since spring 2025, Gator 875M models have replaced the previous 865M series.

The newcomers have seating capacity for up to three people, and the redesigned rear load bed has 13% more space than the previous model.

Uprated, fully independent suspension with 203 front and rear 229mm travel together with tuned rear shock absorbers enhance ride comfort.

Reliability and working life are apparently improved by a new CVT transmission air intake design, which draws in cleaner air and protects the drive systems from dust, water and mud.

Power is from a 22.8hp diesel engine and a 42.4-litre fuel tank is standard.

Kawasaki

New Mule Pro FX models feature at the top of the Kawasaki line-up.

A liquid-cooled, parallel twin-cylinder diesel engine of 999cc produces 45hp, and 82Nm of torque at 3,500rpm.

The transmission is a CVT with a dual low/high range, and shaft drive is standard with selectable two- and four-wheel drive.

Double wishbone suspension is front and rear, and dual disc brakes provide the stopping power.

Wheelbase is 2,345mm, ground clearance 300mm, and the rear cargo bed is rated for loads up to 453kg. Towing capacity is 907kg.

Additional upgrades over earlier models include easier maintenance with easier access to the oil dipstick, oil filter and air cleaner.

Ride quality improvements result from the new self-levelling suspension – the first time it has appeared on a Kawasaki UTV.

When the rear suspension is compressed by heavy loads, an integral hydraulic pump automatically transfers oil into the suspension to level the vehicle, improving handling and braking performance.

Speed-sensitive electric steering is lighter at lower speeds for manoeuvring and assistance is reduced as speed increases to give the driver more “feel”.

The tilt-adjustable steering wheel can be set to suit the driver, and it can also be angled up out of the way for easier cab access.

Polaris

With one of the widest line-ups of all UTV manufacturers, Polaris offers its Rangers in petrol, diesel and electric versions.

Major upgrades this year include a new Gen 2 transmission offering smoother shifting for diesel and XP1000 999cc petrol models.

The same machines also benefit from wheel and tyre upgrades to 29in rubber on 14in alloys.

Ranger Nordic Pro models were introduced in late 2024, with a factory-fitted premium cab, LED lights and a heater as standard.

Segway

The UT6 Premium with a 567cc, 44hp engine complements larger 1,000cc siblings in the Segway range.

The 700kg towing and 454kg carrying capacity are similar, and it comes with a cab with a tilting steering column, glass windscreen, wiper and half doors, yet the starting price is approximately £1,800 lower.

TGB

Two TGB models appear in the UTV listings for the first time this year.

Its distributor, Dualways, is offering the TGB Landmax SE with a 997cc, 83hp petrol engine capable of transporting up to three people and carrying payloads up to 454kg and towing up to 598kg.

The Landmax Pro has a similar engine and transmission but comes with a fully enclosed cab with heating and ventilation, plus a hydraulic tipping rear load bed.

Both models include winches as standard.
