Case IH has reintroduced the iconic Farmall tractor, this time in a 55-75hp range suited to smaller livestock farms and specialty crop farmers. Powered by 3.2-litre 4-cylinder FPT powerplants, there are three models which join the existing Quantum C line-up, with power outputs of 55hp, 65hp and 75hp.

Standard transmission offered in the Farmall C series is a 40kph 12×12 synchromesh and there’s an optional creeper box capable of speeds as low as 123m/hr. Mechanical or power shuttle transmissions are available. The new cab has a completely flat floor and a high-visibility roof for loader work, and measures 2.37m high. Turning circle is 3.75m, making it ideal for smaller buildings, says Case IH.

The company also had machine automation concepts to show farmers for the first time. V2V wireless technology allows certain ag machines to be syncronised, in a so-called master and slave process. The technology lends itself to combines and tractor/trailer combinations; the tractor driver simply drives up beside the combine and the combine driver flicks a switch to take over speed and steering functions using GPS. Case IH reckon that with larger combines, headers and trailers, this will enable operators to get the most out of these machines without spillages.
