Cereals 2009: Knight SC cultivator simplifies cultivation

Want a press-type cultivator but don’t necessarily want the tracked tractor to go with it? Then UK-company Knight’s SC type machine could be for you.

Based along the same lines as the C-type complete tillage train, the SC is a shortened version.

The machine can still work to a depth of 8-10in but it’s a simplified setup without subsoiling legs. Solid tines, which are adjustable for pitch and depth, follow a disc roller for cutting through chaff and a set of discs can be added like the C-tine, too.

There’s a choice of either a linkage headstock or drawbar with hydraulic height adjustment.

It costs about £44,000 depending on spec.
