Cereals 2009: Quivogne cranked leg soil-looseners

Not since the days of the Howard Paraplow have cranked leg soil-looseners really taken off in the UK.
But across Europe they are a popular choice and keen to demonstrate their abilities; Quivogne had a version on show. Available in 3m and 5m working widths, the Saturn uses two rows of curved leg tines to work down to a depth of 200-250mm (8-10in). These are followed by either two rows of wavy-edged discs or a bank of Guttler serrated press-rings. A 3m Saturn needs between 110-150hp and costs £12,000.
