Cereals 2009: Sumo unveils its Versadrill

The demo plots at the Cereals site provided an opportunity for the first public outing of Sumo’s Versadrill.

A result of a collaboration with Northern Irish firm, Moore, the new machine uses a hopper, metering system, frame and tines built in-house by Sumo with Moore’s Unidrill coulter units taking responsibility for seed placement.

Up front a wide-spaced set of rigid tines provide a soil-loosening effect while, running ahead and behind the disc-coulters, rubber and steel press wheels ensure the seedbed is packed down firmly. 4-8m versions are available with the smallest commanding £52,000.
