Crop Solutions unveils net wrapper
Crop Solutions will be a pretty familiar name to fruit and veg growers. The Perth-based netting specialist launched two new rolling/unrolling machines at the show.
Manufactured in Northern Ireland, the unrolling machine is designed to carry and unravel net wraps 2m to 5.2m. The front- or rear-mounted hydraulic headstock is plumbed into one single acting spool. Top speed while unrolling is about 8kph.
The rolling-up version can handle up to 1t of fleece, netting or polytunnel. It has a collapsible centre so that, once rolled up, the netting can be dropped off and recycled. It, too, has fully proportional hydraulics through one double-acting spool. There’s a speed control box for the tractor cab so that the operator can match the speed of the roller to the tractor’s forward speed. The implement itself weighs almost 1.2t.
The unrolling machine costs £4,500, while the rolling-up version will set you back £11,500.
