Cultivator and drill demo days set for Norfolk and Dorset

Growers contemplating a machinery change in the crop establishment department, or simply keen to kick tyres for a few hours, will be able to size up the latest implements at two upcoming demonstration days.
The biennial do of the Norfolk Farm Machinery Club (Normac) comes first, this year hosted by Elveden Estate near Thetford on Wednesday 10 September.

As ever, the format includes a ruck of demo plots, allowing exhibitors to show their wares on the easy-working medium to light soil typical of the region.
This will give punters the rare opportunity to compare similar machines almost side-by-side, and there will also be a cluster of static stands hosting related businesses.
According to the organisers, most of the main tractor manufacturers will be represented, including John Deere, Agco, New Holland, Claas and JCB, as well as the key players in the cultivator and drill markets.
The free-to-enter event will take place at Barrow Clump Farm, Brandon Road, IP24 3TP. Doors open at 8am and attendees can bag Basis and NRoSO points for their visit.

Dorset demo
Later in the month, farmers in the south of England can get their fix of new kit at the Dorset Cultivation Event, which returns on Wednesday 24 September following a four-year hiatus.
The day will feature live demonstrations of cultivators and drills across some 60ha of farmland, supplemented by a trade stand area where visitors can speak to soil experts, agronomists and seed merchants.
A host of local dealers are supporting the event, including Buglers, CJ Cox, Claas Western, C&O Tractors, Dorset Tractors, Highwood, Hunt Forest, MJ Fry and Redlynch.
Visitors should head for Winterborne Kingston (DT11 9AT), then follow signs for the car park. Tickets are £5 in advance or £9 at the gate, and it starts at 9am.
