New in-row weeder launched for arable and horticultural crops
© Einbock In-row weeding for precision-sown arable and horticultural crops is the latest development in Einbock’s already extensive portfolio of mechanical weed control implements.
The Invera uses a single camera per row to capture images that are almost instantaneously analysed.
These images are used to determine plant spacing and to identify any non-crop plants, with artificial intelligence-assisted “learning” ability refining the process as more images are collected.

Powerful hydraulic actuators thrust the hoeing elements to and fro from both sides of each crop row to whip out weeds and leave them to dry up and die off on the surface.
Einbock says the system works accurately enough for the elements to get within less than a centimetre of crop plants, subject to the crop type, working speed and soil conditions.
Two variations are available. The plus is setup to work in widths up to 6m and 12 rows, and is therefore suitable for arable crops such as sugar beet.
It has feeler wheels and can be equipped with pneumatic wheels for precise depth control, cutting discs, ultra-flat duckfoot sweeps, a trailing between-the-row spring-loaded weeder, and section control.
The air configuration, with wheel-free depth control, is suited to horticultural crops.
