Generous territory for Pecks’ new Kubota franchise
A new franchise for Kubota agricultural products kicked off at G&J Peck in December.
The territory encompasses all of Cambridgeshire, Suffolk and Norfolk, and also south Lincolnshire where Irelands Farm Machinery recently quit Kubota.
The tractor range from 25hp to 175hp neatly complements Pecks’ JCB Fastrac sales, notes managing director Jon Wareing.
Agricultural implements are also part of the Kubota offering supplied out of the company’s new headquarters at Chatteris, Cambs, and the branches at Dereham, Norfolk, and Rendlesham, Suffolk.
Kubota’s groundscare and engine franchises are not included in the Pecks package; they continue with existing dealers in the area.
… but Krone withdraws with CC Agri appointment
Krone is ending its distribution partnership with Pecks in early April, with the forage equipment manufacturer emphasising that customers will continue to receive full support from both parties during the transition period.
Chris Coleman’s CC Agricultural Engineering dealership at Stoke Ferry near Kings Lynn was appointed in October.
It will cover north and west Norfolk, north and east Cambridgeshire, and west Suffolk, complementing Sharmans, G Engineering at Halesworth, and Adcock Agri, Chelmsford.
… as does Amazone by appointing TNS
The complete range of Amazone farm equipment is now available through Thurlow Nunn Standen’s headquarters at Littleport, Cambridgeshire; branches at Attleborough and Fakenham in Norfolk; and at Kennett near Newmarket and Melton near Woodbridge in Suffolk.
Marrs of Methlick for Lovol in Scotland
While continuing to supply Zetor tractors in the locality, Marrs of Methlick in Aberdeenshire says it has made an encouraging start as the Lovol dealer for all of Scotland.
This complements fellow importer Severn Farm Machinery with its eight independent dealer outlets across England and Wales.
Dealers further afield have been lined up as service agents, and Marrs managing director Gerard Cameron said:
“I believe we’re a well-known and trusted dealership with the credibility to reassure farmers unfamiliar with the Chinese-built Lovol products, a position we underscore by holding an initial stock of £10,000-worth of parts.”

Guy Machinery owner steps back
A change in management responsibilities will be evident from January when Graham Guy hands day-to-day operation of Guy Machinery to other members of the team.

The Danish manufacturer, which produces tractor-mounted reach mowers and tree lopping equipment, and acquired the Worcestershire-based Razorback operation last autumn, has awarded a territory encompassing Lincolnshire and surrounding counties.

Tallis Amos closes south-west Wales branch
A 36% reduction in tractor sales volume across south-west Wales has prompted Tallis Amos Group to close one of its John Deere branches in the region.
The Llanllwni depot near Pencader opened three years ago, closing for good on Christmas eve.
All team members have been offered relocation to the group’s Narberth operation, 55 miles to the south-west beyond Carmarthen.
TAG director Simon Amos said: “This has been a difficult decision as we are incredibly proud of the team at Llanllwni and the work they’ve done to support our customers over the past three years.
“However, bringing our south-west Wales operations together at Narberth will strengthen our resources and improve efficiency; our commitment to serving the farming community in the region remains as strong as ever.”
RVT’s financial woes revealed

Auctioneer Gordon Brothers held an online auction of Rea Valley Tractors’ plant and equipment mid-November after a worsening agricultural machinery market in 2025 brought the seven-branch dealership group to its knees.
Trade and finance creditors owed ÂŁ35.9m have little prospect of a dividend, according to PwC joint administrator Tim Higgins, who anticipates that employees made redundant will get at least part of their claims settled.
In his description of RVT’s woes, he sets out the group’s rapidly worsening financial position as 2025 progressed.
Increasing creditor pressure with the threat of enforcement action, and then an imminent £1.1m VAT bill coming on top of £3m in HMRC VAT and other arrears, finally caused PwC’s initial role as advisor to switch to administrator in September once efforts to secure fresh investment or a sale in whole or part foundered.
RVT’s bold strategy to quit John Deere in favour of larger New Holland and JCB territories commenced officially on the first day of November 2022.
The business had recorded turnover of ÂŁ87.3m in the 12 months to the end of October 2021, with a profit of ÂŁ790,000.
To the end of October 2022, turnover had grown to ÂŁ102.8m but profitability collapsed to a ÂŁ284,000 loss.
An extended 14-month financial period saw turnover of ÂŁ112.3m in 2023, and with it a ÂŁ5.5m loss, partly incurred by accounting for the very substantial cost of the franchise switch and other measures in one year.
Further territory expansion came in 2024 – RVT’s 40th year – with the January acquisition for an undisclosed sum of the two-branch Teme Valley Tractors operation at Welshpool and Knighton, and the September deal for Russells’ Cubley depot and the Staffshire/Derbyshire territory it served.
Mounting losses
According to draft accounts for the 12 months of 2024, turnover slipped to ÂŁ94m, with another big loss of ÂŁ4.8m.
With the group’s overdraft facility operating close to or at the limit for much of 2025 as market conditions deteriorated, the business ran out of cash and its ability to service debts.
The administrator notes that senior management’s capacity to make informed decisions at this time were hampered by inadequate stock records and the unexpected resignation and departure of RVT’s finance director at the end of July, with no handover to the remaining finance team.
Twice RVT filed a Notice of Intention to appoint administrators, each providing 10 business days’ protection from creditor action as PwC sought investors or buyers – and two parties emerged showing credible interest.
However, after one withdrew upon receiving further information about the company’s working capital requirement, and the other was unable to demonstrate sufficient confidence in their readiness and ability to conclude a transaction within the tight time-frame, administration became the inevitable outcome.
