Dewulf reveals latest carrot harvester
Self-propelled carrot harvesters are some of the most impressive pieces of summer kit on the UK machinery market.
Dewulf’s latest three-row carrot puller – called the Zkiiise (we’re not sure on the pronunciation) – has gained various improvements over its predecessor, with large rollers added underneath the topping blades to minimise losses and blockages.
The long picking belts and curiously-named hedgehog belt makes sure the product is near enough clean as soon as it is picked, says the company.
The machine, which comes out of Dewulf’s Romanian factory, also has a more accessible chassis to improve access to all the main components, says the Belgian-based harvesting specialist.
No surprise that it’s a pretty niche product – the first machine is working in Israel and there are probably only a handful of producers in the UK that could justify such an investment.
