Double use of French ploughs
LAST WEEK’S SIMA show in Paris attracted thousands of visitors from all around the world, giving nearly 1400 exhibitors the chance to show off their latest wares.
Among the major exhibitors were a number of French machinery manufacturers, including cultivations equipment specialist Gregoire Besson.
Two new ploughs join the firm’s line-up. The SPLM is the firm’s first semi-mounted single-wheel plough that can be used on-land or in-furrow.
Designed for users who wish to swap between the two techniques, the new plough is 2m shorter than previous two-wheeled models, making for a more manoeuvrable setup, says the firm.
The reduction in length also results in a reduction in price – the SPLM costs ÂŁ29,000.
Gregoire Besson’s second innovation introduced at the show was a new fully-mounted seven-furrow plough equipped with headstock suspension.
A rubber elastomer dampens shock loads and the “whipping” effect that ploughmen often experience on the headland. This all helps to reduce the stress exerted on both tractor and plough, according to the company.
