Lely’s latest Tornado 245 baler-wrapper combination uses the Welger RP245 Profi fixed chamber baler with the Lely Tornado wrapper.

As well as fast bale transfer from baler to wrapper, says the company, the machine starts wrapping even before the tailgate is closed – which means a big gain in output.

A 2.25m camless pick-up with five tine bars ensures a clean pick-up. After that, the 800mm rotor plus Xtracut 25-knife chopping system takes care of chopping and transport of the crop to the bale chamber. A total of 18 steel rollers and mechanical locks on the bale chamber guarantee high bale density as well as optimum bale shape, says the company.

Using a fixed chamber baler means the Tornado 245 is more compact than ever, it adds, and the machine has an overall width of 2.7m. With the ring wrapper in the vertical transport position even the smallest roads can be negotiated. Manoeuvrability is also helped by the positioning of the single axle.

The Lely Welger RPC 245 Tornado will be available in limited numbers for the 2012 season.
