Agritechnica 09: Case combines’ hydraulically-closing grain tanks

The largest grain tank of its class will be available on Case-IH 20 series combines next year, with the 9120 having an enlarged capacity of 12,330 litres.

Case says it will also have a hydraulically closable tank for the first time.

Another new option is an inbuilt compressed-air cleaning system with a 60-litre air tank and 6m self-reeling hose with five attachment points including engine, grain tank and inside the cab.

There’ll be three additions to the Puma tractor range.
Also coming this winter from Case IH combines is a new generation of headers. Called the 3050 VariCut series, they have larger diameter (66cm) intake augers, variable knife-to-table auger distances and come in working widths from 7.6m to 10.7m.

The new 3050 VariCut includes a patented system that automatically raises the reel if there’s a danger of the reel fingers coming into contact with the cutterbar knives.

On the tractor front, three new Case IH Puma tractors will be unveiled at Agritechnica this November.

They will get new styling plus the lastest multi-controller armrest control system that gives single-hand operation of nearly all activities from changing gear to altering headland management settings.

The new Pumas produce 163hp, 178hp and 193hp with a choice of 18 x 6 semi-powershift or 19×6 Eco transmission and optional 50kph (30 mph) top speed.
