HiSpec shows latest XCEL 1250 muckspreader

The latest version of HiSpec’s XCEL 1250 rear-discharge muckspreader has a solids capacity of 12t, a loading height of just 2.5m and a new curved side panel design that is said to give increased capacity.

This new design also has the advantage of reducing the risk of material bridging, says the company.

The new model is fitted with marine-type double floor chains that can be used with solid and liquid manures, sludge or very dry chicken manure. The chain can now be quickly tensioned manually and the hydraulic system has been simplified.

Each of the chains is fitted with a Hardox steel flail to break up dense manure. From the flail rotor, the broken-up material falls on to two hydraulically driven 960mm diameter spreading discs.

Both discs have shearbolt protection and are fitted with two spreading vanes. For lighter, dry material such as chicken litter or pellets, six-vane discs are available as an option. Depending on material, the twin rotors are said to give an even spreading width from 16-20m and a full 12t can be spread in 3-5min.

Standard spec includes a wide-angle pto driving a 200hp rated gearbox and the spreader’s main transmission system is protected by an overrun clutch and shearbolts. It comes with 580/70R36 tyres and hydraulic braking and LED lighting as standardard. Cost is £32,300.
