Horsch to launch UK-based subsidiary

Horsch will launch a new business, Horsch UK Ltd, on 1 January 2011 to act as the sole importers of its drilling and cultivation equipment in the UK and Ireland. The new company, a wholly-owned division of Horsch GmbH, will retain its dealer network and seeks to expand the range of products it sells in the UK and Ireland.

“The Horsch brand enjoys a good reputation and our customers ask for our product by name. We will continue to work with the same dealers and offer customers the same high standard of customer service,” explains UK and Ireland sales manager, Stephen Burcham.

Horsch products have been previously imported by Simba, but since Simba‘s sale to Great Plains, Horsch has taken the opportunity to expand its presence and product offering. “With the launch of the new company we will make our full range of cultivation equipment more widely available, and be able to offer customers a wider selection of products tailored for British farming conditions,” said Mr Burcham.

The new operation will see the dealer network supported by three regional sales managers and a new dedicated parts distribution service based in Lincolnshire. “We are investing heavily in our parts service and will be holding a wider range of parts for a wider range of products. Horsch customers can be confident that superlative service remains our highest priority,” said Mr Burcham.
