In-cab hammock provides portable bed in livestock trucks

Hampshire truck driver Stephen Saunders has designed a nifty in-cab hammock kit for vehicles without a sleeper cabin.

The portable bed could be useful for livestock wagon drivers looking to catch forty winks during mandatory tachograph rest stops and extended periods of waiting.

Rather than napping with feet on dashboard, drivers can sling the Cabsnoozer across the vehicle’s interior by locking the sewn-in beading in place with both doors, or by trapping it in closed windows.

Remarkably, either method will support a driver of 158kg in weight.

By repositioning the beading rod in a choice of sewn-in slots, the 61cm-wide Cabsnoozer will fit most cabs from 7.5t upwards, though sadly a tractor cockpit is probably a bit too small.

When not in use, it can be rolled up and stashed behind the seat.

The asking price is £24.99 from Highway Hammocks.
