Ireland’s Hi-Spec launches big tanker

Irish manufacturer Hi-Spec has launched a new 18,180-litre tanker, available with a 24m Vogelsang dribble bar hitched on the back.
The firm also offers a mammoth 20,500-litre version, something the firm says reflects the demand from larger farmers and contractors for high capacity machines with slurry application attachments.
The fully suspended, tri-axle tanker has front and rear steering axles and, using a 200mm (8in) auto-fill loading arm and Vogelsand macerator, can be filled in less than four minutes.
Two double-acting spools and a seven-function cab control box are used to control the macerator. The box uses an RDS system to record application information including rate, flow and area covered.
The rear dribble bar is fitted on a four-point linkage and has a self-levelling system. Nozzles are spaced 30cm apart.
It’ll need a decent-sized tractor – 180-200hp should be enough – and the ticket price is about £130,000.
