Knott self-adjusting brake claims to give easier servicing

Burton-on-Trent brake manufacturer Knott-Avonride has launched what it claims is the first automatically adjusting system for auto-reverse brakes for livestock trailers.

Its universal brake system differs from other systems on the market in having the capability to self adjust. This is said to give smooth braking as well as equal and consistent wear of all brake shoe linings.

Other benefits are said to be better overall performance, no more jerky movements, quicker trailer inspection and servicing and no need to manually adjust shoe linings. It also gives the farmer the reassurance that the brakes will always be properly adjusted if subjected to a roadside test.

The system is available as a retrofit kit on the Knott 200×50 brake.
