LAMMA 10: New Pulse Jet from NC Engineering

The latest version of Norfolk farmer David Mitchell’s clever Pulse Jet separated slurry and dirty water applicator (made and sold by NI firm NC Engineering) uses the relatively modest pressure of the water to compress air in a bladder that is then used to squirt a 100 litre blast of liquid up to 60m.

It can apply at rates of less than 2mm/hour – equivalent to 5cu m/ha – which means it meets the Nitrate Pollution Prevention Regulations 2009. It costs £9600.
