New name in loader market
SILAGE CONTRACTORS looking for a new clamp machine will have another brand to consider this year.According to Austrian manufacturer Liebherr, the launch of the L534 wheeled loader follows extensive market research, machine development and testing with Irish contractors.
The company claims that the articulated shovel is designed specifically for the rigours of high-volume silage production.
Powered by a 136hp John Deere engine, the L534 is a hydrostatic machine fitted with an automatic limited-slip differential to provide 45% locking action on both front and rear axles.
The loader uses independent hydraulic pumps for travel, loader operations and steering. This enables loader use without any loss in drive.
The L534 has a turning circle of 5.9m. Combined rear axle and centre pivot oscillation is claimed to reduce cab movement, increasing operator comfort.
To cope with the heavy requirements of clamp work, the cooling package is well ventilated. Fan speed is temperature dependent, reducing the power drain on the engine, according to Liebherr. The cooling fan is also reversible to blow the radiator clear of debris.
Due to be available for the forthcoming silage season, the L534 costs 82,000 – a price tag which includes a 4.5m (15ft) buckrake.
The L534 will be on display to the public in the UK for the first time at the Grassland Event at Stoneleigh, Warks, on May 18 and 19.
