New portable weighbridge from Griffith Elder

Cereals exhibitor 2009

Industrial weighing equipment specialist Griffith Elder is introducing a new portable weighbridge, enabling vehicles to monitor their load anywhere.

The portable weigh beams are said to be lighter than the previous portable weighbridge, the TonTel, a full-plate weighbridge that was heavy and cumbersome to move, according to the company.

The new beams use Griffith Elder’s own Split-Weigh digital system for maximum accuracy. “We did extensive tests at a road stone quarry in Australia on truck and dog vehicles with our Split-Weigh truck scale,” said managing director David Elder. “The difference in accuracy between the Split-Weigh system and using a full-size weighbridge was negligible.”
