Pottinger’s Autocut system reduces sharpening times
Pottinger’s new Autocut system promises to reduce the time involved in sharpening forage wagon blades drastically.
Instead of an hour spent each day sharpening blades with an upright grader, the operator simply presses a button and a grinding wheel moves automatically from blade to blade. The full 45 blades on the company’s big Jumbo wagon take just four minutes to sharpen. That means operators are more inclined to keep blades sharp, thereby cutting fuel use.
The sharpening system costs £6000 and the six brought in were apparently sold quickly.
