Standen imports Hessels webs for production and parts

Potato kit firm Standen is seeking a share of the all-makes parts market by becoming a dealer for Hessels Zeefbanden, a Dutch manufacturer of sieve webs.

With in-house production and profiling of traction belts, Standen says its new partner can deliver sieve webs to any size or specification for any root crop, including potatoes, onions, carrots and sugar beet.

“We’ve used Hessels webs on our own harvesting and destoning machinery for many years and can vouch for their outstanding quality,” says Edward Gilbert of Standen.

“By stocking spares for both Standen and other leading brands of equipment, we’re able to provide growers with fast, dependable support during critical spring and harvest windows.”

In addition to supplying a full range of replacement sieve webs, Standen will also offer replacement parts, including rollers, joiners, web joiners and drive sprockets for all potato equipment, not just its own.

To support growers during the busiest seasons, the company runs an out-of-hours parts and service operation from both its Ely headquarters in Cambridgeshire, and the Burrelton depot in Perthshire.
