Sima 2013: Fecon’s kit makes a mountain out of a mulch hill

This evil-looking bit of kit can chew its way through trees, thick undergrowth – and brick walls probably.

It’s built by US firm Fecon and is powered by a 4.4-litre Cat engine that pumps out an impressive 142hp. Steel-reinforced tracks help put this power to the ground and they’ll propel it to a heady top speed of 11kph.

At the business end, it has a heavy-duty mulching head mounted on a set of loader arms. This is hydraulically powered and can demolish trunks as thick as 20cm in diameter. Woodland beware.
