Speedy grease gun pumps twice as fast

Grease guns may not be one of the most glamorous items on a farmer’s machinery inventory, but even here innovation is happening.

Bury St Edmunds firm TD Agri is bringing in a new type of grease gun (somewhat grandly called the Speedy Grease System) that works by suction rather than the usual spring-loaded plunger.

Fresh cartridges can be installed quickly and cleanly and, once in place, the gun is said to be able to deliver grease at twice the rate of other makes, with 2.5cc being dispensed with every shot at a pressure of 800bar.

Another unusual feature is that one of the levers of the grease gun is fitted with a big magnet. This allows it to be attached firmly near to where you’re working so you can use it single-handedly via an 800mm-long dispensing hose.

It will be on show in January at Lamma 2014, priced £60 inc VAT.
