T6000 tractors to plug gap in New Holland’s range

Middleweight models set to plug a gap in New Holland’s tractor line-up made their first official UK appearance at the Lamma show this week.

Three six-cylinder 125hp-155hp T6000s will replace the brand’s outgoing short-wheelbase TM range, which finishes production this month after a run of 105,000 tractors.

Smaller, lighter T6000 models were launched this time last year, but these later, larger models blend features of New Holland’s previous TS-A and TM ranges making for a comprehensive, but slightly confusing line-up. We’ll try to explain.

The top-spec T6080 is supplied with either Range Command or Power Command gearboxes. The first offers a six-speed powershift with three electronically initiated range changes and a direct-drive top gear, which propels the tractor to speeds of 40kph or 50kph.

Power Command provides the same number of 19F x 6R speeds, but in a full, uninterrupted powershift set-up.

The 125hp T6050 and 140hp T6070 can be specced with a choice of up to four different transmissions. As on the range-topper, both semi- and full-powershift boxes are available, but there is the addition of New Holland’s more straightforward Electro Command four-speed set-up and simple Dual Command splitter gearbox.

Range and Power Command models have electronically-controlled common-rail engines with a power-boost of 23hp-34hp, a longer wheelbase and beefier back-end borrowed from outgoing TMs. They also boast a higher standard spec level with air-seat, air-con and cab suspension.
