Lamma 2023: DTEC feed bucket loads, mixes and discharges ration

The nifty DTEC feed bucket from Powys engineering outfit Davies Technology allows stock farmers to load, blend and distribute a small ration without the need for any additional equipment.

Kicking off the process is an integrated shear grab that allows operators to bite a mouthful of silage directly from the silage clamp or slice a chunk out of a bale.

Once this is loaded, the rotor spins clockwise, causing knives mounted around its circumference to cut the silage into smaller, more digestible pieces.

Other feeds such as straw, hay and rolled barley can also be added, before paddles on the rotor thoroughly mix the ration.

The final part of the process involves lifting the grab – thus opening a panel on the side of the bucket – and reversing the rotor to distribute the ration.

Just one double-acting hydraulic service is required to operate the bucket, and it’s compatible with both tractor-mounted loaders and telehandlers.

Brackets can also be specified to hook it on a three-point linkage.

Three models are available – 1.8m, 2m and 2.4m – which can be ordered from March 2023, ready for delivery in the autumn.

A weigher is available as an option and buyers can specify if they want left or right discharge at no extra cost.
