Working behind a Merlo Multifarmer on the demo plots,Pottinger’s new heavy-duty power-harrow and mechanical box-drill made their debut at Tillage.

The Lion harrow can handle up to 250hp and comes in working widths from 2.5m to 6m.

The 3m Vitasem box-drill is 20% cheaper than an equivalent air-seeder, reflecting its simplicity.

But this lack of complexity doesn’t mean a lack of accuracy, insists the Austrian company. Swapping between separate metering rollers for cereals and small seeds is a straightforward task and rate changes are done with a simple slider.

Fitted with either disc or Suffolk coulters, prices start from £13,000 for the Vitasem while the Lion power-harrow will set you back £12,000.
