Vicon will have three new mower conditioners at Scotgrass

Vicon will be showing three new models of its Extra mower conditioners at next month’s Scotgrass Event
. The 624T and 628T are rear-mounted mower conditioners in 2.4m and 2.8m working widths, while the 3.2m 632FT is a front-mounted model. The new versions include a revised bed design with quieter running gears. The 632FT gets a semi-free-swinging steel tine conditioner, while the smaller 624T and 628T get fixed tine conditioning.
The rear-mounted models use Vicon’s three-bladed disc design that the company says helps give stripe-free mowing and faster regrowth. They also have a 125-degree vertical transport folding position close to the back of the tractor.
The front-mounted eight-disc 632FT packs a wider, 3.2m-wide, cutting width and provides a matched combination with the Vicon 632T, giving a 6.2m cutting width.
The front-mounted mower-conditioner retains Vicon’s free-float pull-type suspension system, but is said to give better ground contour following at higher forward speeds. A big improvement in the cutterbed transmission design comes from using a curved tooth profile for each gear.
