Yams heads stacked machinery show calendar
© YAMS Farmers in the north of England who didn’t make it to Lamma will be able to get their machinery fix at next month’s Yorkshire Agricultural Machinery Show (Yams).
The free-to-enter, one-day event, which last year hosted some 15,000 visitors, will take place on 4 February at York Auction Centre’s 12ha site in Murton, York. All the region’s major machinery dealerships will be exhibiting.

As ever, there’s on-site parking for 3,500 vehicles, an adjacent overflow, and the free Grimston Bar Park & Ride shuttle to ferry punters to the show entrance.
Grass and muck

Meanwhile, May will see the long-awaited return of Scotgrass, following a three-year break.
It will be held on 13 May at a new venue – the Kincaid family’s Slacks Farm in Lochmaben, Dumfries and Galloway.
Working demonstrations of the latest grassland kit will run from 9am-4pm, provided the weather plays ball.
And, just three weeks later, the big players from the muck and slurry world will be piling into Bodrhyddan Hall near Rhyl, north Wales.
Visitors to the new Muck Management UK event on 3 and 4 June are promised two days of live demos featuring the latest spreading, handling and storage equipment.
Following that will be the usual flurry of shows: Cereals at Jeremy Clarkson’s Diddly Squat Farm in Oxfordshire (10-11 June); the Royal Highland jamboree at Ingliston, Edinburgh (18-21 June); and the Royal Welsh in Builth Wells (20-23 July).
