THE Pony Club is an international youth organisation for those interested in ponies and riding. It enjoys a membership exceeding 100,000.

Founded in England in 1929, it is now represented in 15 countries, with 364 branches in the UK and 1925 branches overseas.

Each branch organises a full programme of events which take place in the school holidays. These include annual camp, competitions, visits and social events – all designed to be informative and fun.

Inter-branch events are held. These lead to national championships which run in August and include horse trials, mounted games, polocrosse, show jumping, dressage, tetrathlon and a polo tournament.

Members are able to work for Pony Club certificates.

The British Pony Club was a founder member of the Euro Pony Club. Formed in 1990 it promotes exchange visits and encourages friendship.

The majority of successful riders in all disciplines of British equestrian competition have been members of the Pony Club.

Membership is open to girls and boys under 21 years of age.

Members pay an annual fee to their local branch which constitutes membership of the club as a whole and includes third party insurance. (Individual and family subscription available).
