3.75% for workers

FARM workers have been awarded a 3.75% pay rise, and three days paid paternity leave, effective from June.

The pay rise, which will apply to all workers, was described by the NFU as "a good settlement". But farm workers leader Barry Leathwood said it would do nothing to bring their wages closer in line with other manual workers.

nor would it encourage new people in to the industry.

No agreement was reached on pensions, and further discussions will take place.
