A more robust rake

EXTRA strength and durability are considered by Kuhn Farm Machinery to be the main improvements to be found on its range of three GA single rotor rakes.

Offering 4.1m, 4.2m and 4.5m working widths, the rakes are now equipped with a heavy duty double reduction gearbox. Designed to minimise flexing in the central rotor, the double reduction gearbox comprises the usual crown wheel and pinion arrangement which is stepped down to a pair of straight cut gears.

Other changes relate to beefed-up three-point linkage and connecting frames, now made of heavier gauge steel, while the two larger rakes feature a reinforced undercarriage.

The three rakes are equipped with 10, 12 and 13 arms respectively, which can be repositioned to provide transport widths of 1.75m, 1.95m and 2.2m.

All models are designed to move crop to the right hand side (rear view), where the row is formed against an adjustable swathboard. For the largest rake, the swathboard can be adjusted hydraulically from inside the cab. The two smaller models offering mechanical adjustment. Prices for the GA 4121, 4321 and 4521 rakes are £3405, £4125 and £5470, respectively. &#42
