Adjustable gates should ease the job

DRAFT sheep more easily using a shedding gate that is adjustable for different sizes of sheep, says manufacturer Ritchie Farm Equipment, Tayside.

The companys Draft Stop Gate also has a travel stop to minimise gate movement and is lockable allowing sheep to be held in the race, it adds.

A new Guillotine Gate is also available in either 30cm (2ft) or 60cm (4ft) widths, says Ritchie. And both gates are said to be of heavier construction than previous types.

A painted Draft Stop Gate costs £86.20, the galvanised version is £109.95. Guillotine Gates cost from £74.10 for a 30cm (2ft) painted version to £108.95 for a 60cm (4ft) galvanised type (01307-462271).
