Adjustments to milk levies

CREDIT notes and invoices have been sent to milk buyers by the Intervention Board, following final adjustments to the 1995/96 super-levy bill.

The corrected wholesale and direct sales levies total £43.9m and £4.96m respectively, compared with previous fines of £44.3m and £5m. This reflects overproduction of 148m litres in the wholesale sector and 15.8m litres for direct sales.

Milk buyers who are affected will notify producers concerned and make any necessary adjustments.n
