FOXBURROW Farm, North Elmham, Norfolk is on the market for over £2.6m, with farmer Simon Thompson planning to pursue other interests after a restructuring of the family business.
The 690-acre arable farm is the first sizeable offering to come out of East Anglia this season and, as such, Strutt & Parkers Alastair Brown anticipates there will be plenty of demand from both farmers and non-farmers alike. "All elements of the countryside are featured in this sale. There is commercial, amenity and conservation interest."
As well as 550 acres of IACS-registered, irrigated soil, Foxburrow includes the historic Great Wood, possibly mentioned in the Domesday Book, and one of the largest ancient coppice-with-standard woods now remaining in the county. There is also a pheasant and partridge shoot along with some duck flighting.
Accommodation is taken care of by a six-bedroomed period farmhouse, which Mr Brown says is well-located in the centre of the farm, and a pair of cottages currently let on assured shorthold tenancies.
