Anti-hunting Bill sentenced to death

MIKE FOSTERS anti-hunting Bill is expected to be sentenced to death today as it finally runs out of time in the House of Commons.

Tory MPs will spend some time debating the Bills that come up first, such as those regulating pesticides, so that no time is left for other measures such as the Wild Mammals (Hunting with Dogs) Bill.

Ministers have decided not to intervene to save the Bill amid signs the Cabinet is split over a compromise proposal to allow people to decide in local referendums whether hunting with hounds should be banned.

The Bill is ninth on the list of Private Members Bills for consideration today.
