Antibiotics in goat’s milk
A BATCH of goats milk has been recalled after it was found to contain traces of antibiotics.
The affected batch of St Helens Farm Goats Milk has a best-before date of 6 March, 2000 and is sold nationwide in four supermarket chains, reports PA news agency.
Tests showed the milk contained traces of antibiotics, including penicillin.
Anyone with a carton of the semi-skimmed or whole milk, is being urged not to drink it as it could cause a reaction in people allergic to penicillin.
Most of the affected milk has been withdrawn from shelves of supermarkets Safeway, Sainsburys, Tesco and Waitrose.
