Gloucestershire young farmers got their 60th anniversary year off to a good start with a blessing of the plough service in Tewkesbury Abbey.
Six junior members
carried soil up the aisle to be blessed and four young farmers and the chairman of Gloucestershire Society of Ploughmen escorted the single furrow horse plough. Six county chairman, representing six decades of YFC in Glos, stood around the plough during the blessing.
The Princess Royal is the federations patron and she will attend the federations 60th anniversary county show which takes place at Hartpury
College on May 10.
