Above: Gazing skyward… Sheep penned at Cardigan, Dyfed, on Monday. As elsewhere, lamb prices fell sharply, the 1100 on offer averaging 130p/kg. Wet, cold weather in the past few weeks has not helped lambs, says auctioneer Richard Lloyd. Top price was 151p/kg for a pen of Texel cross animals. The mart is seeing the last of the hoggets now, with 160 averaging 94p/kg and topping at 100p/kg.
